This week P6a have been busy learning about Area. We have measured, calculated and drawn area shapes. One of the most enjoyable activities were our self portraits done in a Minecraft style. Not only did we use Area we also had a little symmetry involved. The final pictures allowed us to calculate the area of each part. They look amazing!🤩👏🏻
We have also explored the issue of pollution and climate change on our Oceans. First we watched an animated film by Aardman Films called ‘Turtle Journey’, which, although incredibly sad also made us realise the problems creatures face. The pupils retold the story through a comic. We then created an experiment using shells and lemon juice, to show the erosion of coral and shells due to the polluted waters and the increase in acid. This is called acidification. Next week we will see what has happened.
