Dear Parents/Carers,
We hope this email finds you well! As we look back on the past week at Pirie Park, we are thrilled to share some of the exciting events and activities that have taken place. It has truly been a week filled with learning, joy, and community spirit.
1. Play Along Maths:
On Tuesday, our Primary 1s took part in active maths games and activities, facilitated by Miss Charelson. Thank you to all those parents/carers who were able to join us, if you couldn’t make it, don’t worry… I am sure your child will be keen to share their experience with you at home!
We are proud of all our learners and grateful to those who are able to supported them!
2. Halloween Disco:
This week’s Halloween planned events were a great success, many of our young people enjoyed the opportunity to dress up and come along to the disco run by our Parent Council! A huge thank you to everyone who was able to support with this event. Continuing with our Halloween theme, children took part in a sponsored Spooky Walk to either Elder Park or the Govan/Partick Bridge. Children were treated to a snack provide by the parent council and managed to raise a whopping £945 to support our school fund!! Thank you to Mrs Quigley for organising this fun event for our school and a big thank you to all the adults who gave up time to support our children on their sponsored walk. It was wonderful to see everyone’s enthusiasm and community spirit!
3. Parent-Drop -In:
A friendly reminder that in order to support communication, we offer a weekly drop-in to all parents/carers who wish to speak with a member of the senior leadership team. This runs from 8.30 -9.15am every Wednesday.
4. Parents/Carers as Partners:
As we continue our journey on Restorative Approaches, Miss Monaghan has planned session 1 inviting parents/carers to join us on that journey… look out as details will be shared soon! In addition, we are looking for parent/carer volunteers to provide support in and around the school ensuring the learning experiences is the best it can be for all our young learners. If you are keen to get involved please notify the school office.
5. Upcoming Events:
Looking ahead – next week we have organised a mop-up session for any child who missed the opportunity to have their school photograph taken, this will take place on Tuesday 5th November AM. We are also excited to see our Primary 1s photographs in the Glasgow Times next week, don’t miss it!
If you have any questions or feedback, please feel free to reach out.
Warm wishes,
Lesley Gillies
