Useful Support & Links

Here are some links parents and carers may find useful …

This Parenting site from Place2Be has handy, bite-sized information for parents on many issues – it has advice from child mental health experts and just launched across the UK (November 2021).  We think it is really useful and is well worth a look. Click on the link above to access it.

Click above – This website gives advice and information to help you support your child.

This website is very user-friendly and gives advice and information about ALL things Parenting-related.  They also have a Facebook page. Click above to access the website.

Click above to access the Glasgow City Parents Group Twitter Feed.  They represent Parent Councils and have a lot of information designed to support parents and carers across the city, as well as opportunities to have your voice heard on the current issues.  They work in collaboration with Education leaders in the city to support schools in their work for all our young people.

The Chat

The Chat

A new resource created by the Health & Social Care Alliance Scotland (HSCAS) became available for all parents and carers. It has been designed to support conversations at home which may stem from RSHP lessons.
The website has common questions asked by young people and responses which support parents and carers answering these questions. Answers are given with recommended ages and span all phases of education from early years to the end of secondary school.
TIE
(Time for Inclusive Education)

The information on this page is designed to help parents and carers fully understand what LGBT Inclusive Education is and how it is being developed through the National Approach.

Information is also available for parents and carers through Education Scotland’s Parentzone and the Scottish Government’s Guidance on LGBT Inclusive Education.

Car Free Zone

Our School is beginning an 18 month trial of a Car Free Zone on Fortrose Street on weekdays, during term time within the periods 8:30 – 9:15 am and 2:45 – 3:30pm.  This is part of Glasgow City Council experimental Traffic Regulation Order.

Most traffic will NOT be permitted to move in Fortrose Street during the periods detailed above. This includes parents and families dropping off and collecting pupils.   We, kindly, request the compliance and goodwill of our community in adhering to these measures to improve the health and safety of everyone.

Please note, exemptions apply for Blue Badge Holders, emergency and primary care vehicles as well as residents with permits for vehicles.  These vehicles and some others will be allowed to park and move within the stated times.  However, the measures should greatly reduce traffic around the school gate and encourage healthier and more environmentally friendly journeys to school.  We encourage everyone to show understanding, kindness and respect for each other and the rules, as we all adjust to the new measures.
