Wednesday May 13th

Good morning P6.

hope you are all doing well.

here are a couple of tasks for you today.

Maths- multiplication

here is a fun crossword for you to try. Remember when completing a crossword your digits should match up if they are in a both a down and across clue. If you are unsure how to complete a crossword you can just answer the questions like regular sums then get someone in your house to help you with the layout.

another tip- you might want to try the grid method for the long multiplication questions.

Literacy- writing

i want you to write a thank you letter to someone who has really been there for you and helped you during this time. This can be a family member, a neighbour, a person working in your local shop or a friend you have kept in touch with online.  Use lots of adjectives to describe what they have done for you and how much it means to you.If you don’t mind sharing you can email it to me or have your parents take a photo of it and WhatsApp it to me. I’ll post lots of your learning on Friday.

have a lovely day

Thursday May 7th

Good morning P6!

Hope you’ve had a great week. It’s been so nice chatting to so many of you in the comments.

Here are a couple of tasks for you today:

Maths- Some more revision

Also I’ve been checking out your Sumdog and you guys are doing amazing!! Some of you have answered more than 3,000 questions this week, incredible! Keep it up!

Literacy/ Art

I want you to create something- this can be written, drawn, photographed, filmed, sculpted, anything you like- that shows the class the kinds of things you have been up to at home that are not working away on your iPads!

Show off your photography skills by sending some pics of your walks with your family, send us some art skills you have perfected, or a video of a dance you have learned. I’ll share them all on the blog on Monday

Here are some things I’ve been up to:

As you all know I moved into my new house at the start of P6 and have spent most of this year turning it into a home. This is the guest bedroom which I have used to show off my love for film. Do you know what all of these films (and there are 2 tv shows) are? Also, can you guess which 1 was painted by me?

The other thing I have being doing lots of is cooking, I love it! I have lots of vegan cookbooks but I don’t usually have the time to try lots and lots of new dishes, until now!

These are hassle back (or some people call them hedgehog) potatoes I made last week as part of my Sunday dinner. It took a few tries to get the crisp and flavour level perfected- and a few tries of making those little cuts and not slice the whole potato in half!

Send me the things you have been up to as always on my email

gw16websterrebecca@glow.sch.uk

I can’t wait to see and be inspired to copy some of your hobbies!

Also just to note that tomorrow is technically a Bank Holiday so there is meant to be no school. So I will not be posting work on the blog. Instead I want you to go outside if you can (it’s meant to be gorgeously sunny tomorrow) and have some fun with your family!

I’ll be around in the comments and will be back with a post of Monday with all of your photos and creations!

Love you loads

Miss Webster 🙂

Wednesday May 6th

Good morning P6!

Hope you are all enjoying the sunshine this week. Here are some more tasks for you.

Maths: More fractions revision

I have also updated the test from yesterday on Sumdog. Well done to those of you that have completed it already! Part 2 is a little different and may take you a little longer to make sure you have enough time to complete it in one sitting.

Art: If you have these items in your house, try making one of these cool lava lamps! You will need an adult to oversee this so make sure you have your parents permission first!

I’m still looking for your answers for the topic KWL grid and for Guided Reading so be sure to email me those

me email is

gw16websterrebecca@glow.sch.uk

As always I am in the comments of the blog if you have any questions  and am available over email all day.

Have a good one!

Miss Webster 🙂

Tuesday May 5th

Good morning P6!

Here are your Tuesday tasks:

Literacy- Guided Reading.

This week’s guided reading is the absolute classic novel Holes by Louis Sachar. You guys know how much I loved this book when I was your age so is it a huge surprise that I chose this one? Haha

Here’s the text (which is the copy of the book I’ve had since 2005-crazy!)

You should be able to zoom in without the text getting blurry. Or you can zoom in, screenshot the image and read it from your photos on your device.

Here are the questions:

Guided Reading holes docx

And here’s a video of me reading the chapter for you to follow along!

Email me your answers

gw16websterrebecca@glow.sch.uk

Maths-

I have created a mini quiz on Sumdog for you all to complete. This is all based around multiplication.

When you log in to your Sumdog account the quiz will come up as the first thing you have to do before you can get on to the games.

Don’t worry about emailing me your results as Sumdog does that for you!

Make sure that you are completing this quiz in an area where you will not be distracted as it is based on your timing as well as how many you get correct!

Have a lovely day

Miss Webster 🙂

Monday May 4th

Good morning P6!

Hope you all had a lovely weekend and managed to enjoy the sunshine yesterday!

Here are some tasks for today:

Maths- Some revision on fractions, decimals and percentages that we worked on last term

Literacy- your writing pieces that have been emailed to me have been incredible! Keep those imaginations working with another image today

Who is this man?

What is he working on?

Is it for good or evil?

What will happen once his creation is complete?

Music- Today is Star Wars Day (May the 4th be with you) and I found this task all about the Star Wars theme that was set by another teacher and thought you guys would love it! Don’t worry if Star Wars isn’t your thing, the music is incredible and you really should listen to it.

Here’s the link to the main theme:

Tomorrow there will be a new guided reading posted so be sure to email me your answers to last week’s task set by Miss McCue.

Also, if you did complete the KWL grid for our new modern studies topic can you email me that too?

gw16websterrebecca@glow.sch.uk

Have a magical day 🙂

Miss Webster

Friday May 1st

Good morning P6.

Happy Friday and welcome to May!

It was so lovely to see so many of you yesterday while I was out delivering your learning packs. Remember those are meant to last you a few weeks so don’t rush to complete everything all at once!

Now that you all have a device to access this blog from I want to give all of you your school email addresses. This means that you can all log in to leave comments on the blog and you can also email me work from your iPad. You will see that all of your passwords are the same at the moment but you can change it (so long as you make a note of what you change it to) the first time you try to use it. Hopefully now you guys will have way more chats in the comments with each other too!

Click on the pdf link below and find your name with your email next to it. The password is at the top of the page as it is the same for everyone.
