New homework for term 3

Homework will be changing slightly for term three.

Each week your child will receive ten spelling words in their red spelling jotter. They must copy each word 3 times, write a sentence for each and then complete the 3rd spelling challenge which will be written in their jotter each Monday.

Your child will also be given weekly maths homework sheets to be completed. This can be completed either on the sheet or in their green jotter if they need space to show working.

All pupils should still be reading their own book of choice each night (they may borrow from the school if they like) and any additional research or task related homework will be given out when appropriate.

Homework is still due on Thursdays

Any questions please just ask 🙂

Thanks

Miss Webster

Happy New Year!

Welcome back everybody!

Hope you all had a lovely break and are excited to be back in P6 for 2020!

This term we are learning lots of new things.

In maths we will be studying Fractions, Decimals and Percentages. If you want to practise this at home please see the top marks website for some games and quizzes.

In literacy we will be studying Poetry and Characterisation. We will be writing our own poems and stories using our incredible imaginations!

To start this topic off Miss Webster set us all the challenge of using our most impressive and detailed adjectives. We chose a name of a person in our class and we had to describe them as best as we could. Our aim was to get the whole class to correctly guess who we were describing.

For example:

“My person has very, very ,very long hair. She plays Roblox and she wears glasses” – Aamna was of course describing Chantel

“She has a big smile, she wears hairbands, she’s taller than Hubaib, she’s a big fan of Big Boss” – Aliyan is describing Simmal.

“She loves fashion, she’s sometimes strict, she loves to shop and she loves hot drinks like coffee and tea.”- Zaynab described Maria

“Her hair smells very nice, she’s small, she wears her hair in a ponytail and she runs with her sister”- Antony is describing Aamna.

We will be studying poetry next week.

Our IDL topic this year will be Slavery. We know so far that Slavery began in 1619 and it began in America.

We are excited to learn more about this

Our PE days are still Monday and Tuesday but both will take place on the MUGA so be sure to pack warm and appropriate gym clothes. We will be studying circuits and athletics.

We will keep you updated on all of our learning adventures!

from P6 🙂
