Wednesday 16th May is UK Inspire Day – Cupar’s Olympic Secret

Wednesday 16th May is UK Inspire Day and a celebration of the London 2012 Inspire programme – a family of special projects across the UK that have been inspired by the Games to do something special in their local communities.

To celebrate their success as part of the educational legacy of London 2012, the Inspire-Aspire project will host a free exhibition of their work in Cupar, the base of UK operations. The exhibition will be at the Corn Exchange from 10am-4pm and showcase work from across the UK.

Gemma Clark, the programme’s co-ordinator said “I think people will be really surprised to learn that a small team of people from Cupar have played such a key role in making the most of the educational opportunities presented by having the Olympics in the UK. I would encourage everyone from the community to come along and see what we are doing. It is really impressive and, more importantly it’s a chance to be inspired and learn something new”.

Seb Coe, Chair of the London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games said: ‘UK Inspire Day is a celebration of the Inspire programme and exceptional projects like Inspire-Aspire whose events and celebrations will bring the UK to life.’
