Egyptian Sarcophagus Project

Primary 2b made amazing sarcophagus models as part of their homework project. Mrs Bushell and Mrs Lord were so impressed at the hard work that went into the models and thought they looked fantastic! The P2 pupils were able to share their models with the class and some pupils from each P2 class showed their model projects across the stage.

Our Topic

P2b have had an exciting week learning about Ancient Egypt in our Topic. We have received letters from Tom the Time Travelling Cat, giving us challenges to help him to get home. Mrs Bushell and Mrs Lord have been super impressed with how quickly the pupils are tackling the challenges and we are well on the way to bringing Tom home.

This week we have been looking at Hieroglyphics. We wrote secret messages in the playground for our partners to translate into English.

We have used non-fiction texts to learn about the Egyptian Pyramids. We used our skimming and scanning skills to find information in a non-fiction text. We then used our facts to create amazing fact files. Look at our super writing from this week!

P2b had a wonderful morning on Monday, enjoying a gymnastics session with Jacqui and Kirsty. We loved the activities they set out for us and were working hard on creating beautiful balances. We jumped off high tables and practised rolls and cartwheels! What a great morning!

P2b Class Trip

We had a wonderful day at New Lanark yesterday. We loved learning about life in the Victorian times and the Annie McLeod ride was amazing! We learned all about her life and what children had to do in a cotton mill in Victorian days.

We got to dress up in Victorian clothes and visited a house and the villiage store to see what living conditions were like. We also loved being time detectives, finding clues to show how people lived 170 years ago!

Sewing

P2b had a fantastic week sewing beautiful bookmarks. We enjoyed making patterns with colours and were very good at threading our needles on our own.  Mrs Ghaus and Mrs Bushell were super impressed with how hard we worked and how we kept going even when we found it a little tricky at the beginning.
