School Meals Service

Here is a short video which illustrate how East Renfrewshire’s school meals service works on a daily basis.  This may be of interest to the parents of our new pupils joining us in August!

Bon appetit!

Knex Challenge at the City of Glasgow College

Rian and Alexander did us proud today at the City of Glasgow College as they represented Uplawmoor Primary School at the Knex semi-final.  3,456 pupils from the West of Scotland took part in the challenge and 15 teams (each team consisting of 2 pupils) got through to this semi-final.   We cannot show their design as the competition is still going on, but they created a superb piece of work which they are so proud of.  Well done boys on getting this far!  What a wonderful achievement.

Friday Masterclasses get off to an Expert Start!

The boys and girls had their first taste of technologies, textiles and cooking masterclasses on Friday.   The Primary 6/7s are sewing coasters, Primary 4/5 started cooking with making a Greek Salad and Primary 1-3 are learning to work with wood and will be making pencil holders.

The children will rotate each fortnight to experience each masterclass.

Egg Hunt Fun

The children had fun hunting for eggs with their friends this afternoon.

We would like to say Happy Easter to all the pupils, friend and families of Uplawmoor Primary and enjoy the break.

Remember, school closes at 2.30pm tomorrow!

Earth Hour

Earth Hour is a worldwide movement for the planet organised by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF). The event is held worldwide annually encouraging us to turn off our non-essential lights for one hour, from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m as a symbol for our commitment to the planet. Earth hour takes place on Saturday night, so the Eco-Committee decided we would celebrate Earth hour this afternoon with lots of outdoors activities and games.

Bollywood Dancers

Mrs Rasul’s Bollywood dancers did us proud at the dance champs on Wednesday evening. A big thank you to Ashley and Mia’s mum who helped with hair! We are looking forward to seeing them perform at tomorrow’s Celebration of Scotland event.

Celebration of Scotland

The Media committee would like to remind you about tomorrow’s event!

‘A Celebration Of Scotland’ will take place tomorrow, Friday afternoon, 24th of March in the gym hall. Please remember it is strictly a ticketed event.

We look forward to seeing you all there!

Children should be dressed in full school uniform (and our younger pupils should bring their wellies!)

Badminton at Eastwood High

Good team effort from the Primary 6/7 badminton team who went along to Eastwood High to play some friendlies last night.  We will be starting a lunchtime club after Easter as the standard is so high!  Well done to Mary, Ashley, Carly, Mia, Adam, Dylan, Max and Cameron. Keep up the training for the next competition!

P6 Bikeability

What a lovely day for some cycling!  Despite the wind and rain the Primary 6s did a great job outside learning their safe starts and demonstrating their control round a challenging course.  Well done Primary 6.  No complaints about cold fingers and frozen toes (except from Mrs Tait!)
