Uplawmoor Christmas Fayre

c0d863da41b9209fba46e5a4e84dd81bLast weekend the PSA hosted a Christmas Fayre to raise money for the school.  There were lots of stalls to shop at.  You could buy frames, flowers, cakes, wood carved animals and lots of crafts.  There was also a tombola and a place where you could have a hot drink and a cake.

We are very grateful for the effort and time the parents put in to host a wonderful fayre.

Do you enjoy Sewing? Do have have some spare time to help?

Primary 6/7 are looking for some help to make 3 barrister gowns for our pupil solicitors.  We are competing against other schools in Scotland’s Mock Court Case initiative and our solicitors have to wear correct attire.

If you can sew (and preferably own a machine) Megan-Jane  and Emily would be delighted to receive some help as it is their job, as gown makers, to create gowns for their solicitors.

Please contact the school on 0141 570 7460 if you could help.

We are also looking to source some more black material, therefore, if you have any spare material that could be of use please do not hesitate to let us know.

A big than you to Mrs Sanders who, already, has helped us in our search for material!

Thank you in advance, for your help.   P6/7

Christmas Fayre – Update

The Uplawmoor PSA would like to thank everyone who worked so hard over the last few weeks and on Friday and Saturday in particular, to make the School Christmas Fayre such a success.

P6/7 worked hard in the beauty Parlour painting and nails and faces and tattooting and decorating crazy hairstyles, as well as running the toy stall and mini tombola.

Thank you also to all the parents and staff manning the tea rooms, selling crafts, minding Santa and running raffles and knocking doors to sell tickets.  Thank you to all our stall holders and everyone who came to support us on Saturday.  It was very busy with lots of gifts and beautiful crafts to choose from.

Massive thanks also to Mr Wright who had to come in very early to make sure the tea urn was on and to Mrs Watson for her endless patience answering questions, printing tickets and most importantly opening the door for us many times!

We are delighted to report that the Christmas Fayre raised a whopping £1374 this year.  Well done to all!

We look forward to helping out at the Carols and Shortbread and would like to wish all the pupils, staff and parents of Uplawmoor Primary School a very Happy Christmas!

PSA Village Ceilidh

By Ashley Kee (P5)

The PSA organised a Ceilidh for the families and friends of Uplawmoor on Friday 12th September.  There was a band who also sang at the same time. It was on from 7pm until 10pm.  There were alot of people there!

There was an adult ‘lucky fiver’ which is when you write your name on a five pound note.  At the end they picked a name out of the box and that person wins all the money!  There was also a kids tombola which was 20p a shot.

We all had a really great time!

PSA – A big ‘Thank you!’

The PSA would like to say a huge ‘thank you’ to all the parents, staff and pupils for their generous donations of time, skill, enthusiasm and ideas which have supported the PSA throughout this year.  They have had a very industrious and fun year and look forward to seeing the new stage lights in use at the summer Production on Thursday!
