Messages of Thanks – Received by Mr Smith
I received an e-mail from our partners at The Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice which I thought you would be interested to read:
Thank you very much indeed for the kind invitation to attend another “Look Back in Laughter” and what a success it was too…great night. Maisie and I had a thoroughly enjoyable evening and really expected nothing less…as always
Congratulations to everyone involved with Charities Week and for reaching your target of £7,000 and some! Best of luck with the balloon race tomorrow and we hope it goes well and you have a clear day.
Warmest wishes to all at Mearns Castle High from all of us here at The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice.
Kindest regards
Joyce and Maisie
Charities Week
A huge thank you to everyone who contributed to the two evenings of Look Back in Laughter last week. Thanks also to those who bought tickets and came along to support our charity fundraising.
As a result of all our activities this year, we have raised the magnificent sum of £7,550.56, which is some £800 more than last year’s total and the highest amount raised in Charities Week since 2008. So well done to everyone.
Congratulations
Congratulations to Megan Gemmell and Haider Suleman (S3) and Douglas Canning and Shweta Shewale (S4) who took part in the final of the Scottish Enterprising Maths Competition.
Our team were placed thirteenth out of the fifty-six schools which took part – our highest position yet!
Young Enterprise
Congratulations and Gold Stars all round to the pupils involved in the Young Enterprise Group Mini Sales Event at S5/6 parents evening. A last minute decision to proceed with the sales event without promotional materials resulted in an outstanding success. Excellent work by some dedicated pupils
Charities Week
A very big thank you to everyone in the school for contributing to a very successful Charities Week. The total raised at this point is £5,400, which is well up on the figure at this time last year, so well done to everyone!
We now finish off our fundraising activities with ‘Look Back in Laughter’ – the evening shows which feature a selection of the acts from the Charities Week lunchtime shows. The two Look Back in Laughter shows take place next Monday and Tuesday evenings (Monday 21st Nov and Tues 22nd Nov) from 7.30pm until 9.45pm and friends, relations, mums, dads, aunties and uncles are all welcome. Tickets cost £3 each and are on sale all this week at lunchtimes in the Open Area. As ever, tickets will only be sold to pupils who are ‘on colour’.
Tickets for the Great Balloon Race and the Golden Ticket raffle will be on sale up until the Tuesday of Look Back in Laughter. These tickets will also be on sale at lunchtimes in the Open Area every day this week.
Let’s get the total up to £7,000!! Buy your tickets this week !!
