Download Microsoft Office Apps for Free

As the children in our school have access to Glow , it is now possible to download for free the Microsoft Office 2016 apps on up to 15 personal devices; up to 5 PCs or Macs, 5 tablets (Windows, iPad and Android) and 5 phones.  ‎Making these apps available helps Glow users take full advantage of the opportunities these tools offer. The Office apps which include Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote provide a learning platform that extends beyond school and into the world of work.

To download the Office 2016 apps, log in to Glow and either click on the ‘Download Office Now’ tile or go to the ‘Office 365 Home’ tile and once in Office 365, click on “Install Office 2016” at the top right of the page. Find out more here. If you are unable to access your child’s Glow account at home, or have any questions on how to download this software, please contact the school and arrange to speak with Mr Robson.

In term 3 children in P6 will take part in Bikeability sessions. The Bikeability programme is designed to give young people the skills and confidence to cycle, especially on roads. The programme also aims to sustain participation in cycling activity in Scotland.

Tuesday 10th May 2016 Bikeability session 2
Tuesday 17th May 2016 Bikeability session 3

If any parent wishes to volunteer to support a Bikeability session please contact Miss Dunn.

Primary 1 Registration

RegistrationEast Renfrewshire Council has set up one week when you should register your son or daughter at your local primary school. You must register your child at your catchment school, even if you intend to make a placing request to Calderwood Lodge.  If your son or daughter is aged five between 1st March 2016 and the end of February 2017 you should go along to your catchment primary school between 1.45pm and 3.30pm any day during the week of Monday 11th January to Friday 15th January 2016. You must take your son or daughter’s birth certificate, your child benefit statement or a bank statement showing your benefit award, a copy of your current council tax notice and mortgage statement or rental agreement.

Parents who would like a place at Calderwood Lodge should then complete a placing request form. These are available online on the East Renfrewshire website or from the council offices in Eastwood Park and Barrhead Main Street.  All placing request forms should be sent directly to East Renfrewshire Council. The school does not process the placing requests.

Stars in our schools

Star Day

Today the pupils at Calderwood Lodge celebrated the hard work by all of the support staff in the school.  The pupil council set up a presentation for the staff with banners, a star balloon, a star filled table, and lots of different drinks, cakes and sweets. The staff were presented with a certificate signed by all members of the pupil council, letting them know we all think ‘they are a star in our school’.  Members of the pupil council each said something about the hard work carried out by the pupil support assistants, kitchen staff, janitorial staff and office staff.
