Pupils and staff at Calderwood Lodge were recently paid a visit by a very special person. As part of the transition to our new school, pupils will be given the chance throughout the year to visit the site and see how the building work is coming along. Ivor Goodsite attended an assembly to talk to pupils about staying safe on construction sites in preparation for some of these visits.
Mrs Carlton and two of our Primary 5 pupils met Mrs McBride, head teacher of St Cadoc’s Primary School along with two pupils from the school in a turf cutting ceremony at the site of the Joint Faith Schools Campus in Newton Mearns. They were joined by the Leader of East Renfrewshire Council, Jim Fletcher, along with the authority’s education convener Elaine Green.

We are unable to store bikes in between sessions on the school premises. In previous years bikes have been stored in between sessions in our nursery hall, however this space is now a shared space used by Primary 1 and nursery children. Please speak to a member of office staff should you have any queries about this.
If any parent wishes to volunteer to support a Bikeability session please contact Miss Dunn.
A group of pupils, parents and staff participated in the Muddy Mile run on Sunday 20th March. This event was inspired by our running club and Mr Neillie, the parent who runs this afterschool activity. The Muddy Mile was great fun. We had a few lost shoes in the mud pits but the sun was shining and everyone was smiling at the finish line. We hope to make this an annual event, so we will send out more information early next year to allow more parents and pupils to join us.
Well done to all of our Pupils in Primary 3 for their recent performance at Messibat Siddur. Pupils and staff worked extremely hard in the lead up to this, culminating in a wonderful celebration for all who attended. The children are now enjoying using their new Siddurim for daily prayers and Kabbalat Shabbat.
