Parent Council

Parent Council Agenda AGM September 2017

The Scottish Schools (Parental Involvement) Act 2006 was established to help parents become more involved with their child’s education and to provide easier ways for Parents to express their views and wishes through the formation of The Parent Council.

The Parent Council meets a minimum of six times per School year. In accordance with the Act, the Head Teacher has a right and duty to attend all Parent Council meetings and plays an active part in how it conducts its business.

The main functions of the Parent Council are:

  • To promote contact and communication between the School, Parents, Pupils, Nursery and the Community.
  • To support the School in its work with Pupils and Parents.
  • To represent the views of all Parents.
