DINNAE FORGET YOUR CADDY!

We are taking part in East Ayrshire Council’s Food Waste Recycling  Initiative called Dinnae Forget Your Caddy! We are trying to encourage our community to –

  • Recycle food waste at home and present your caddy for collection each week
  • Help to raise our Community Caddy Count .

Can you help us reduce food waste? Here’s how it works…

See the links below for short video clips on recycling our food waste-

Can you please remember to put out your caddy every week for collection and help us raise our Caddy Count in Mauchline?

As part of this initiative we ran a school competition to name our own school Caddy and the winner is…

Brodie Adams in Primary 4. Well done Brodie!

He came up with the idea of calling the Caddy

Obin-Wan Kenobi!

Windy’s Top Tip #5

As part of Windy the Wind Turbine’s Workforce we participate in challenges to reduce/save energy… we can collect 8 wind turbine parts which assemble to make a  Windy Turbine and gain a Windy Trophy for our school.  We currently have 3 parts and are working towards gaining the fourth part!

This is Windy’s Top Tip for February!!

Challenge #4

Mauchline PS & ECC have signed up to join Windy the Wind Turbine’s Workforce. Each month we participate in energy awareness/reducing challenges. When we complete each challenge we can collect 8 wind turbine parts which assemble to make a  Windy Turbine and gain a Windy Trophy for our school. We hope Windy can come to visit us at Mauchline too!

Windy has some hints/tips to help us with our challenges. These will be posted here every month…

EAC Clean Green Award

This session we are working towards EAC’s Clean Green Award.  Our classes and school committees are working hard to make Mauchline PS & ECC and our village a climate friendly environment and there will be many activities and initiatives happening across the school throughout the year.

One of these initiatives is EAC’s Power Down initiative. The aim of Power Down is to build a strong community of energy saving champions across East Ayrshire centres, schools, homes and communities.

Mauchline PS & ECC have signed up to join Windy the Wind Turbine’s Workforce. Each month we participate in energy awareness/reducing challenges. Mauchline Parkour

This is a post from the Chief Executive’s blog:

Earlier this year our Mauchline CARS team appointed our Creative Minds team to deliver a Parkour summer school for pupils from Mauchline Primary School. Working with professional dance artists, Louise Chudleigh and Carrie Craggs and expert Parkour tutor, Scott Houston, they created repertoire which was carried out at iconic locations across Mauchline.

Young people worked with digital specialists Prancing Jack Productions to capture footage on a journey around the village showcasing the wonderful heritage we have in our own town.

I wanted to share this short – energetic – video with you. It shows the village in a completely different light!
