Our Monday was off to a great start with Miss Martin our String Instrument Teacher. Today we were learning the names of our different strings and used the mnemonics ‘Green Dinosaurs Are Enormous’ and ‘Auntie Daisy Goes Crazy’ to help us ensure our strings were plucked in the right order! As you can see from our photos posture is really important and we used Beanie Babies to help ours!
Building upon their success at the local competition, today Isla K and Danielle in P3 and Tyler and Kasey in P6 took part in the West of Scotland Primary Engineer Regional Final Competition. We are delighted to announce that Isla K and Danielle were judged WINNERS at Apprentice Level 2 and Tyler and Kasey won for BEST THEMED. Well done everyone, we are so proud! To help us to learn more about minibeasts, we set pit-fall traps. We then went outside to observe and analyse the traps and see what we had caught. Have a look below to see us building our traps and observing them 24 hours later.
Well done to Beau, Devyn, Isla K and Danielle in P3 and Lara, Aaron, Tyler and Kasey in P6 who competed in the Primary Engineer STEM celebration event held at Greenmill Primary on 26th April. All teams worked well and were a credit to Barshare. Congratulations to Isla K and Danielle, Kasey and Tyler who were judged winners in their categories and have progressed onto the next round to be held in Glasgow. Here are some photos of our day…
Linking with the Tour of Ayrshire and The Big Pedal, P6 had great fun taking part in a cycling workshop! Primary 6 worked hard in teams to come up with a team name, a jersey and a new bike – they then got to test their cycling abilities outside!
