P3 – Enterprise – Organising a Party

Primary 3 have had a very busy week as it was our enterprise challenge to organise a Halloween Party for the infant department.  We had to plan the games and scripts, organise music, write a letter to order apples, make posters and decorations then lead the infant department during the party.  It was a lot of hard work, but it was well worth it.  The infants had a fantastic time, and we learned lots about team work, organising events and the importance of taking on roles and responsibilities.  Please have a look at the pictures below to see us in action!

P7 – Alcohol and Liver Experiment – The final Results!

Our cuts of liver have now been submerged in alcohol for two weeks and it is safe to say that they are all badly damaged. The liver has all changed in shape, texture, colour and smell (and trust us they do not smell good!).

The liver that was damaged the most was the one that was soaked in Blue Wicked (an alcopop). The liver has fully decomposed and we can no longer weigh it or take its measurements – could you imagine if this was inside your body?!

The cut of liver that was drenched in lager had the foulest smell of them all – it was putrid.

This experiment has highlighted the dangers of alcohol abuse and the results have seriously shocked us. We are going to really try and make positive choices in our future – we hope you do too!

SLC go to Sportsability!

On Friday 6th October 2017, P5, 6 and 7 pupils from SLC 3 went to the Sportsability event at Ayrshire College in Kilmarnock.  We got to take part in lots of different sports such as athletics, rugby, football, sitting volleyball, netball and dancing.  We had such a great day trying out different sports and send a big thank you to all involved in organising the day.  We can’t wait until next year!
