On Friday 2nd June, Finlay in P2 attended the Barony Hall in Glasgow to receive his award for his success in the Leaders Award. This was a very special event and a wonderful opportunity for Finlay to celebrate his amazing success. Furthermore, Ruairi in P3 and Yasmin in P7 were judged to be ‘distinction’ and their work was displayed in the Barony Hall the following weekend.
Building upon their success at the local competition, today Isla K and Danielle in P3 and Tyler and Kasey in P6 took part in the West of Scotland Primary Engineer Regional Final Competition. We are delighted to announce that Isla K and Danielle were judged WINNERS at Apprentice Level 2 and Tyler and Kasey won for BEST THEMED. Well done everyone, we are so proud! For science, primary 4 have been learning all about plants. On Wednesday they did an investigative study to learn about the different types of seeds you can get in fruit. They had to use their magnifying glasses to create detailed diagrams of the cross section of fruit and the seeds in the middle.
To help us to learn more about minibeasts, we set pit-fall traps. We then went outside to observe and analyse the traps and see what we had caught. Have a look below to see us building our traps and observing them 24 hours later.
As part of our minibeasts IDL, Primary 3 decided to plant seeds and see if we could attract minibeasts to our flowers. We are excited to watch our seeds develop and observe the minibeasts that visit!
