We recently had the opportunity to visit The Baird Institute in Cumnock as they were holding an Ancient Egyptian exhibition! As you will be able to tell from our photos we had a super-duper afternoon! We got to share some of our knowledge with visiting experts and even had our questions answered by an expert Egyptologist.
We had a wonderful day at Dumfries House on Friday. As part of our IDL, we visited the farm and the farm animals. We got to touch and feed some farm animals including chickens, ducks and pigs. We also learned about the journey of milk from source to consumer. A highlight was definitely getting to use ingredients to prepare and bake our own cheese and chive scones. We even made our own butter!
A virtual reality headset is a head-mounted device that provides virtual reality for the wearer. Virtual reality (VR) headsets are widely used with video games but they are also used in other applications, including simulators and trainers. In class today we went on an around the world adventure. We explored the depths of the ocean and the top of Mount Everest! Please remember to ask us all about it!
Primary 3/4 are learning about food and farming. We have been learning about where food comes from and today, Mrs Houston came into school and helped us to make vegetable soup. We got to peel, chop, slice and cut different vegetables and then we learned how to make them into a soup. We have even came home with a little pot to sample! Thank you to Mrs Houston and to Lynn in the kitchen for helping us.
What an exciting morning! We had a super time meeting all of our new slimy, furry and slithering friends.
