Primary 3/4 – Home Learning – Week Beginning 6 April

Hello Primary 3/4!
I hope that you are all okay and staying safe and happy at home. Happy Easter! I hope that you all have a lovely Easter. I am sure you will have a great time with your families and be sure to be eating lots of Easter chocolate!
Here are a few wee ideas that you might wish to try out during the Easter break:
• Design and create an Easter card for someone in your family. You could look on google images for some design ideas and inspiration. When you’re on your daily walk, you could post the card to somebody in your family who you don’t live with.

• Easter and Spring are the times of new beginnings. Draw a Spring themed picture – how many things linked to Spring/Easter can you think of?

• Easter Baking with an adult – you could help to measure out and weigh the ingredients then have lots of fun decorating the biscuits/cakes. Don’t forget the best part – eating them! Yum!

• https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/collection/easter-kids This website has a list of different simple recipes and ideas. Perhaps you could try one or two.

• https://youtu.be/NGEWHkCIrjY is a great YouTube video with 7 different ideas for Easter Crafts that you can try.

Take care of yourself and each other and I hope to see you when we can,

Primary 3/4 – Home Learning – Week beginning 30th March

Hello Primary 3/4!
I hope that you are all keeping well and staying safe at home. I missed seeing you all last week, hearing all your wee stories and learning together.
Each Monday I will post on here to keep in contact with you and your families and let you know what tasks/activities are set for the week.

This week I would like you to keep working on the home learning pack that I sent home to you. This was to last you for around two weeks.

I have been checking Bug Club and Sumdog every day. Well done to those of you who went on last week. I enjoyed seeing how you got on with your bugs and I was happy to see some people had completed the sumdog task I had set. This week’s sumdog tasks focus on the times tables and money. Don’t worry if you completed these last week – you can enjoy playing the games that come after!

There are lots of fun things online you can be doing too – PE with Joe Wicks, online stories and virtual tours of zoo’s! I hope you are enjoying these if you’ve been tuning in.

I hope you have a good week Primary 3/4. Keeping working on your home learning packs, practice your reading on Bug Club your numbers on Sumdog and have fun with your families.

Take care of yourself and each other and I hope to see you when we can,
From Mrs Hastings x

P3/4 Dumfries House

We had a wonderful day at Dumfries House on Friday.  As part of our IDL, we visited the farm and the farm animals.  We got to touch and feed some farm animals including chickens, ducks and pigs.  We also learned about the journey of milk from source to consumer.  A highlight was definitely getting to use ingredients to prepare and bake our own cheese and chive scones.  We even made our own butter!

P3/4 – Soup Making

Primary 3/4 are learning about food and farming.  We have been learning about where food comes from and today, Mrs Houston came into school and helped us to make vegetable soup.  We got to peel, chop, slice and cut different vegetables and then we learned how to make them into a soup.  We have even came home with a little pot to sample!  Thank you to Mrs Houston and to Lynn in the kitchen for helping us.
