Primary 5 have been learning football skillsĀ in PE this term. Kilmarnock Football Club came into the school to educate us on the importance of staying hydrated. The pupils then were able to participate in a football training session led by the coaches. Look at some of the fun we had!
Since winning our Cumnock cluster festival, our P4/5 basketball team competed at the East Ayrshire final. We visited the Ayrshire College and played against 6 other teams.
In maths they have been learning about measurement. On Wednesday they took to the playground to learn about non-standard and standard units of measurments. Click the link below to see more of what they did!
They also were working up a sweat in their P.E. lesson on Wednesday. They were learning about cardio and strength training exercises through the use of a training circuit. They came up with the exercises themselves and had a balance between strength and cardio. Click the link below to see more of what they did!
On Tuesday 20th February SLC 1 went on a trip to Build a Bear in Silverburn .Ā This linked to our learning aboutĀ our topic on toys and also our writing as we have also been looking at the characters in books and creating our own characters.Ā Last week we designed and described our own bear as our writing activity and then weĀ were very lucky and got to make our bears at Bulid a Bear.Ā We had lots of fun and we will have lots of follow up activities where our bears will come back in school to help us.
We also went for our lunch at Frankie and Benny’s it was very nice and we all looked very grown up.
This morning the children from primary 4 and 5 who attended the Basketball after school club were invited to Cumnock Academy to participate in a competitive festival. We played against Logan, New Cumnock and Netherthird – and won! 1st place!! We will now go into the East Ayrshire final on 6th March
