As part of our farming topic, we have been finding out about the journey of food from source to consumer. To help us, we visited Tesco today as part of their Farm to Fork programme. We got to visit the bakery and taste the bread, identify the countries that fruit and veg came from and taste a fruit salad. Our favourite part though, was when we went into the freezer!! It was soooo cold!! We had a great time and learned lots about the journey of food. Here are some pictures of our morning.
We had a lovely afternoon today as Mrs Houston visited us and helped us to bake our very own scone! We learned about the ingredients we needed and the method to use. Tomorrow we will use what we have learned to write our very own recipe for baking scones.
Today P3 had a wonderful day of outdoor learning when we visited the new farm based at Dumfries House. This was a fantastic way for us to learn more about farming in Scotland. We got to visit the animals, feed some, collect eggs and find out how sheep wool is used. We then decorated our own “rainbow sheep”. A lovely day was had by all! On Friday 2nd June, Finlay in P2 attended the Barony Hall in Glasgow to receive his award for his success in the Leaders Award. This was a very special event and a wonderful opportunity for Finlay to celebrate his amazing success. Furthermore, Ruairi in P3 and Yasmin in P7 were judged to be ‘distinction’ and their work was displayed in the Barony Hall the following weekend.
