On Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday this week we said good bye and good luck to our 6 fabulous P7 big people who had their three-day visit to Stranraer Academy. And hello! to 8 lovely little people; our new Primary 1’s!🤩
On Tuesday morning the new P5,6,7’s took on their new role of P1’s buddies and we couldn’t be more proud! They met their P1 in the playground, gave them a quick tour and got them ready at the back door ready for 9 o’clock. The little class had a morning of fun getting to know their teacher Mrs Warwick and playing some fun games and the big class played a game of ‘Capture the Flag’ Maths edition!🚩Afterwards, they had lots of fun playing out in the playground in the sunshine! In the afternoon, we enjoyed an ice pole curtesy of Mrs B!😍
On Wednesday afternoon, we welcomed back 8 cute smiling faces ready for an afternoon of fun as transition continued for everybody. Mrs Warwick and Miss Douglas decided that the weather was far too lovely to stay inside, so an adventure up to the Wetlands it was! 🙂 The big class and little class buddied up into teams of four for a scavenger hunt. They found soft feathers, patterns, built stick towers and most importantly had lots of fun getting to know each other! Afterwards, we had an obligatory play at the park in the sunshine and headed back to school ready for home-time 😄.
Thursday has been the final day of our three-day transition. The big class had a fun morning applying their maths skills; time, money and budgeting to research a honeymoon holiday for Miss Douglas. While the little class had morning of number games.
After break time, P4-7 finished off their hot air balloon art work. Then, it was the new P1’s had all been waiting for… lunch time! On the menu was spaghetti bolognas, BBQ chicken wrap or cheese and egg sandwiches, wraps and baked potatoes, which they all seemed to enjoy!
😄 In the afternoon both classes took advantage of the glorious weather, P4-7 played rounders at the park and P1-3 enjoyed some parachute games.
A huge well done to everybody! We can’t wait to welcome our new P1’s back in August for some more fun!❤️
