We were all set for our trip to the Royal Highland Show 2026! Despite the early 7:30am start, pupils and staff boarded the bus with bags of excitement ready for a full day of fun!😄We travelled in style on the Translink coach and had a quick pit-stop at Monkton Services for the toilet and some fresh air. On the road again, we had arrived in Edinburgh before we knew it! 🚌
When we arrived, we split up into our smaller groups with our adult and together decided on a quick itinerary on how we were going to tackle the busy showground!🐮 Some groups decided to start with some lunch, while others were keen to get stuck into their tour around the field! There was so, so much to see that Mrs Baillie had tried to group pupils on their interests and age, so that pupils could prioritise the areas best suited to them. Some group’s first stop was the machinery, while others were there for the ponies, others groups were keen to gather up some freebies in the food and gift tents! The excitement of the activities actually made us forget that the weather was a tad drizzly!🌦️
After a full day of exploring, we met back up with our friends from Kirkcolm ready to board the bus back to Leswalt. We had fully anticipated that after the excitement of the day and the early start, we’d have some sleepy heads and a quiet trip home… not quite! The bus was booming with many, many, many renditions of ‘No Scotland, No Party’ and ‘This Little Light of Mine’🎤
A super day out, thank you to the boys and girls for all their fun, the teachers and adult volunteers and the Baxter Family for their generous donation!🥰
Stay tuned for the RHS 2026 photo-story, coming soon… 👀
