Sports Day Success!๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿผ

Today was the day, we’d all been waiting for. Mrs Baillie had checked the weather, once, twice, one hundred times hoping for a dry afternoon, and that’s exactly what we got!๐Ÿคž With our eggs, spoons, sacks and ropes at the ready, we trooped over the park for our annual sports day!๐Ÿ˜„

Over the past couple of weeks, we had been heading over to the park for some practice and today the boys and girls were very excited to show off their racing skills to their friends and families. ๐Ÿ…Our fabulous House Captains, Colin (Lochnaw) and Rachael (Soleburn) had organised for us to take part in a full programme of events; the sprint, skipping, sack, egg and spoon, obstacle and long-distance races and finally the relay.

Our Fabulous P7 House Captains

A big thank you to all the families and supporters who came along this afternoon and created such a lovely atmosphere and to Rachael and Colin our fabulous P7 House Captains for their great organisation and for keeping everything running like clockwork. ๐ŸซกAnd to Gordon from the shop who kindly donated a well needed bottle of water for every pupil and a caramel egg – a perfect sweet surprise to finish a fabulous Friday!๐Ÿซ

It was so lovely to watch everybody demonstrate such fantastic sportsmanship, encouraging one another and giving everything their best go! The atmosphere was filled with laughter, encouragement, applause and the occasional dramatic finish-line finish! we had some tired legs and smiling facesย  by the end and plenty of funny tales to tell. Sports day is always a great way to show that winning od always exciting, but it’s the taking part and having fun that makes the afternoon so special and our fabulous Leswalt crew exemplify this amazingly! We are so incredibly proud of everybody and hope they are too!๐Ÿ˜

Results to follow next week, and our Sports Champion boy and girl this year to be revealed at the Closing Ceremony.. but for now, enjoy some funny action shots!๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ™‚

Hear Ye, Hear Ye P1-3 Visit the Castle of St John๐Ÿซ…๐ŸงŽโ€โ™€๏ธ

This morning P1-3 ventured into Stranraer with their Kirkcolm buddies to visit the town’s very own Castle of St John! The started off in the museum where they were set a scavenger hunt – a super way to explore the castle and see lots of real life artefacts. ๐Ÿ‘‘Afterwards, they ventured up the (VERY!) windey staircase to a very royal room with lots of costumes and real life bits and bobs. The pupils spent some time dressing up and having fun re-enacting some castle battles.๐Ÿซ…๐ŸงŽโ€โ™€๏ธ
hey learned that the Castle once belonged to the Adair family from Ireland and later it turned into a prison! They were led further up the windey staircase to the roof, where they learned that the top of the castle was used for prisoners to exercise!๐Ÿ’‚๐Ÿซ…
A super fun trip with lots of local learning! Well done Team P1-3!ย
