A Fun-Filled Friday!๐ฎโป๏ธ๐บ
Special Delivery!๐ช๐ฅฐ
This morning, the sun was shining and P4-7 were very excited to head out into the village to deliver some bags filled with delicious harvesty goodies. The boys and girls loved door hopping, meeting some of the Leswalt community members and handing over some cupboard fillers! ๐ฅ๐ฅฃ๐
We really did have a lovely morning and we hope we managed to put smiles on๐๏ธ๐ช some peoples’ faces! ๐ Thank you to all our kind donations. A special shout out to Papa John Finlay for some of the biggest leeks, carrots, cabbage and onions we have ever seen!! How lucky are we to live and work in such a fabulous community?!๐
Community Reuseโป๏ธ๐ฎ
Afterwards, P4-7 buddies up with their friends from Kirkcolm for a trip to the ‘Community Reuse Shop’ to learn about sustainability in our local area. When we jumped off the bus, we were greeted by two friendly members of staff. We quickly suited up into hi-vis vests ready for our tour. We spoke about the difference between ‘recycling’; where something cannot be sold again and must be turned into something new and ‘reuse’ which means it can be used again or re-purposed.
We started off outside, where we found out that The Reuse Shop have started to sell paint and other DIY products and then inside we were shown how donations are sorted and cleaned read for sale in the shop. We were so impressed by the shop; they had lots of nearly new bits and bobs for sale, toys, glassware, furniture, curtains! After our tour, the boys and girls were allowed to choose a book each to take home and a bookmark.๐๐ A huge thank you to the community re-use shop staff for our fabulous visit.ย
Dancing Shoes at the Ready!๐ฏ
To top of a fantastic Friday, P4-7 welcomes Emma Abel from Emma Louise Dance Club into school to teach us some dance moves! This term, the ‘big class’ and Mrs Lincoln have been learning all about contemporary dance and performing some dramatic choreography! This afternoon, we decided to call in an expert – Emma! ๐๐ผ This afternoon’s focus was ‘Commerical Dance’ just like the music video dancers! We started off by learning some moves including ‘pivot turn’ and the ‘grape vine’ and put some actions together. Afterwards, we practised ‘atitude walking’ onto stage like a dancer. The boys and girls strutted their stuff and struck a pose at the end.๐คฃWe finished off the session by having a go at one of Emma’s Halloween inspired dances to Lady Gaga!
A huge thank you to Emma for her visit this afternoon. Emma runs dance classes at the Millenium Centre on a Thursday for all ages. https://www.emmalouisedance.co.uk/ย for anybody who fancies getting their dance shoes back out!ย
Phew.. a busy day in P4-7!๐
