Hi there P6/7

Hello to everybody in primary 6/7. I’ve finally started to learn some of the skills needed to add a blog post and picture. I now have an idea how much work is involved in getting this thing up and running. Well done to all of you, I certainly don’t find it easy!

I’d like to thank you all again for all the effort you put into Fridays Scots Event. It was a great afternoon and you all performed beautifully. It shows that the effort you put in to something can be seen in the final outcome!

This week in school.

This week in school we have been putting links to the experiences and outcomes on LTScotland. One of the class targets were : I can demonstrate how well I understand time by completing a range of calculations and practical tasks. 😀 We are also continuing our guitar project.

At music we were practising guitar. Here is picture

We have been making time lines about our topic of great Scots. We have made a prezi about all of the dates on our time lines.

What we have been doing.

Primary 7s have been planning on their Christmas ceilidh they had to go in groups and make a name and logo.  Next time when p7s get to plan the ceilidh they get to make their  own menu and get a budget .

Pimary 6s went skiing at Fir park  they done a pizza shape then they got to go to the green line. Next week they are going to be going up the slope and the helicopter will be bringing them up half way.

We  have been learning lots of different things and we have been putting targets in our learning logs one of our targets is: I can use a dictionary to find the meaning and spelling of words.  Mr McLaren showed us where to find the targets we were learning in the Experiences and Outcomes, and we will be learning more of  this through the term.

At music we are doing a guitar project. we got into separate groups and made a logo and a name on the logo. When we are finished we will sound like this guitar.

Our class assembly

On Monday 27th September it was our class assembly. It was about the p7’s visit to Ardeonaig and Activity Week that took place in school. At Ardeonaig there were 4 groups-Lochy,Ness,Morlich and Tay. At Ardeonaig the p7’s took part in Gorge walking, high ropes, low ropes, an adventure walk, orienteering, archery and a treasure hunt. Every night the p7’s watched a bit of Marley And Me before they went to bed. They also had to say grace before every meal because Ardeonaig is a Christian centre. Every morning we were wakened by this song jitterbug coming throught the speakers!

The rest of the class enjoyed Activity Week in school. We visited Rosemount Farm in Blairgowrie which is owned by the Cooperative. We learnt about what crops they grew and we made healthy pizza’s.Here is a picture of one we made out of material. We went on Zooburst and Kerpoof. Another activity we did was drama. We went through the alphabet with a partner and guessed what they were acting out. We all had a great week no matter if we were at Ardeonaig or at school.

Hi this is primary 6/7 we are here to talk to you about our trip to the Glass works. We walked to the glass works in Alloa from Clackmannan it was tiring but fun. When we arrived we had to put on a hair net, baseball cap, safety glasses, yellow jackets and earplugs.

We got split into two groups and taken around the Factory. First we stood up on a step and looked through a shade into a furnace full of melted sand and seaweed. That bit was very hot! We went back into the office to watch the gas change in the furnace. We then walked down the stairs to watch the melted glass get molded. this is the bottle that was made

We went down to the cold end of the glassworks and we saw the bottles getting the date molded on to them we also seen the bottles getting scanned through a big machine .

We also made a Prezi about the visit.

This week in computers.

Hi. This week we have been doing lots of fun things in the computer suite and in class. We have been using websites like: Anymaking , Voki and Prezi. Anymaking is a website that you can make pictures fancy on for example you can give rounded corners and a reflections. Here are some pictures that were taken out of our classroom window.

Voki is a website that you can make your own taking character. We hope you like the one on our blog. Everyone  thought making vokis were fun and everyone would love to do it again.

[kml_flashembed movie="http://vhss-d.oddcast.com/vhss_editors/voki_player.swf?doc=http%3A%2F%2Fvhss-d.oddcast.com%2Fphp%2Fvhss_editors%2Fgetvoki%2Fchsm%3Db39ab783c69c9209eee29b9161a9b914%26sc%3D2773754" width="200" height="267" allowfullscreen="true" /]

We had our first shot at prezi it was really fun and we hope you like the one on our blog. It is just quick one and we have only just learned how to do it. It is a website that you can make your own presentations on. It is really cool and everyone enjoyed it.

From Farm to Fork.

Wednesday. We went to From Farm to Fork. It is not a animal farm it is just a growing food farm. It was great fun,we got split into two groups, P7s and the other group was P6s. P7s first activity was making pizza. It was a vegetarian pizza. We first made the dough, then then you put the Tomato sauce over it. Then we put as much cheese over it as we wanted. Then we put the other ingredients like peppers, tomatoes, pineapple and sweetcorn. P6s first activity was going a small trip  around the farm. We saw where they plant the potatoes. They have wildlife space beside the potatoes. Did you know.  They are  Britain’s largest farmer so they have stores all over the country, so they  have a responsibility to the people who eat there  food :).  By that time we had to go back to get the others. By the time we got back it was time to swap over.At the end they gave us 2 books, one was all about where your food comes from. The other one was a a-z of food and farming facts. Looking forward to posting again. 😀

Primary 7 away to Ardeonaig!

This week will be very interesting. Our Primary 7 pupils have gone off to Ardeonaig for a residential experience and we are left behind. Today we are learning to use hyperlinks in our blogs and we think we will find this pretty useful. Mr McLaren showed us Purplemash and we had time to have a wee shot of 2Animate. Tomorrow we will spend all day in the computer suite using websites like Kerpoof and Zooburst as well as Glow!

Learning to make headers

Today we have learned how to make headers for our blogs. We had to go on lots of different websites like Lego minimizer and we also used Powerpoint. One thing we had to do was change the colour and the font. On the Lego minizer we had to make our own characters everyone enjoyed it. There was a variety of things to choose like Spiderman,Superman,Stormtrooper and others. Other children in our class helped other pupils on the glow website.

Welcome to our Blog!

We are Primary 6/7 in Clackmannan Primary School. We will use this blog to tell you, (and show you – hopefully!) some of the work we will be getting up to over this year.
We are really excited to be getting our own blogs and Mr McLaren and Mr Patterson are really keen to see how we use them to think about our learning, and they will show us how to add photographs and samples of our work over the next term.
Other things coming up are some of us are heading off to a residential trip at Ardeonaig and we are really looking forward to it.
Keep coming back to find out what other things we are doing in class.
Bye for now
