A series of lessons the children underwent about budgeting and Greek culture specifically food. To begin we worked through researching Greek dishes and snacks, we wrote a recipe for Spanakopita. Then the class visited the co-op in groups and worked out change and cost to stay within a budget to purchase the food. We then talked about food preparation, hygiene and they importance of trying new foods. What a fantastic lot of chefs in the class. The class were investigators, researchers, accountants, chefs and kids learning whilst having fun! It not only linked into out topic but also the UNCRC the rights to research article 13, article 17, article 24 and article 31.
