P3/4/5

Today we have been looking into our topic which is Life Cycles. So we took our learning outside and planted some little sunflower seeds, to see their Life Cycle and to see how many days it takes to grow into an adult plant. We split into four groups to see which group waters their plants and is more responsible of keeping their plants healthy. We hope you enjoy the pictures, we enjoyed the planting. It was a lovely day.

Planting at Blackfaulds

The Eco Committee spent the afternoon helping residents at Blackfaulds nursing home to add colour to their garden by filling hanging baskets and pots with lots of lovely flowers. They then got to meet other residents, then were treated to hot chocolate and home made cupcakes to thank them for their efforts! Thanks to Marion at Blackfaulds for making us all feel so very welcome.

Outdoor Learning in the nursery

The nursery children are thoroughly enjoying all the outdoor area, which is available all day, all weathers. With this in mind, please ensure that children come with appropriate footwear for puddles and a change of clothes, should they get wet. Waterproofs are available, but some puddles are big!

Rights Respecting Day for Change – A huge Success

On Wednesday 24th of May we had our Day for Change and it was a huge success!! We raised an even number of Ā£160 which a charity called Nutrition have said that for every pound raised they will double it which means we have raised Ā£320. This means our money will be able to train two nurses to look after malnourished children. Also we can provided four malnourished children with life saving food for five days.

On the day we had an assembly to explain Day for Change and to raise awareness of the malnourished children in Liberia. There was a cake sale at break time and the cakes sold like hot cakes!!!! We wrote Day for Change in chalk on the hall floor and covered it in coins. We paid Ā£1 to dress down or in blue and had a guess how much money in the jar, which Meah won.

Thank you so much for helping us raise this amount and it will make a difference in these young children’s lives.

Nursery Sponsored Obstacle Course

Today in Nursery the children had lots of fun developing their gross motor skills, coordination and balance when attemptingĀ our sponsored obstacle course.

They started by weaving in and out of cones.

Next they had to crawl though a tunnel.

Then use their balance to walk alongĀ a beam.

Then step alongĀ the ‘stepping stone’ block.

Then weave in and out cones with a small hoop on their head.

Place a hoop over their head.

Lastly bounce three times on a spacehopper before starting all over again!

Please enjoy our gallery of photos below.

Money raise is being used to help pay for our nursery summer trip. We have asked for any money raised to be handed in by the 9th of JuneĀ or as soon as possible.

Thank you for your continued support.
