Good morning primary 6/7 and HAPPY WORLD BOOK DAY! I have really enjoyed seeing pictures of you having lots of fun in the snow. I will try to capture some photos of my own and post them later today đ If you are looking for some more activities, here are some suggestions you could try.
1. Since it is World Book Day, you could cosy up and read your favourite book. Me and Cinco (my dog) are going to be snuggled in reading âBrain Freezeâ by Tom Fletcher.
2. You could create a poster to advertise your book and persuade someone else to read it. Think about the persuasive openers you completed for your Read, Write, Swap books!
3. We have been working hard in class to create interesting newspaper reports which include the 5ws â what, why, where, when, who? You could write your own newspaper report on the weather across Scotland. Remember you need a catchy headline!
4. Continue to play games on Sumdog and compete with your classmates. You are really challenging yourselves and doing a fantastic job. Have you shown someone how to use the grid method for multiplication?
5. Practise your times tables! There are plenty of songs on Youtube that you could learn to help you. These ones are particularly fun! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9XzfQUXqiYY
6. Are you feeling inspired by the snow? Get creative and make some artwork. You could draw or paint a snowy landscape. I know you love the âHow to Drawâ videos so why not show someone at home?
- I know you will have been having lots of fun. Why not write me a letter to let me know what you have been up to? I canât wait to hear all of your stories!
- There are lots of unusual birds in my garden at the moment. Why not spread some kindness and feed some birds. They will be finding it hard to find food in all of this snow.
Please continue to wrap up warm and keep yourselves safe! Keep sending me your pictures đ lauren.walker1@westlothian.org.uk
