It’s been all about numbers in Primary 2!!
Large numbers, small numbers, numbers before, numbers after, numbers between…….
We have also been learning about the values of the individual digits in numbers.

Well, what a fabulous sight met my eyes at meet and greet this morning! Primary 2 are looking super in their Children in Need outfits! Very impressed by the effort you have all made, well done primary 2 (and of course our parents and carers, your support is much appreciated!!).

We are learning about space this term so what better place to start than by designing some rockets to take us ‘to infinity and beyond’!
Primary 2 have been investigating sight.  We did a few experiments to make us think about how we use our eyes every day. Our first experiment was to walk with a blindfold on. We had partners who helped guide us.

We then tried to throw and catch a beanbag with a blindfold on. This was not an easy task.

Finally we had to guess where the person speaking was standing by listening to their voice.

These experiments helped to show us how we rely on sight and how blind people depend on their other senses.

P1 found something special in their classroom yesterday – a strange egg! We were very excited and had lots of fantastic ideas about where the egg came from and what was inside. We thought it could be a chicken, dinosaur, panther or even a dragon. We can’t wait to find out more…

Nursery Forest Adventures
Thank you to all our amazing parent helpers for coming along on our walk on Monday – we all had ball splashing in puddles and playing hide and seek in the trees. We gathered lots of natural Autumn materials and have been enjoying experimenting with them back in nursery.
Thank you Primary 5 and Primary 6/5 for performing The Emerald Crown for pupils, teachers, parents, carers and friends today. It was fantastic. What a talented bunch you are!

Primary 2 have been busy counting up in steps of 1, 2, 5 and 10 this week.

P1a have had lots of fun learning about Fairy Tales. Our favourite so far has been Jack and the Beanstalk and everyone has been very engaged with their learning. We have been creating castles and planting our own beanstalks. We also used non standard units to measure some leaves that the dragon left behind in our classroom.
We have been working very hard with learning new letters. This week we will be focusing on ‘t’ and ‘i.’ See if you can find anything at home that begins with these sounds 🙂
Finally, for number we are working on recognising, forming and ordering numbers to 10. You could practise this at home if you want to! Well done Primary 1 for all of your fantastic work and thank you so much for all of your amazing homework jotters 🙂
