In numeracy this week, primary 1 have been learning about the value of numbers and have been working on putting numbers in the correct order from smallest to largest. The extra challenge has been that some numbers are missing! We also worked on making numbers using ten frames so we could see which numbers were bigger in a different way. A particular highlight was our 100 square challenge where they all worked as a team to make up the giant 100 square. Well done P1 🙂 so proud!

Our class aliens wanted us to teach them about where our materials come from and how they are made. We went on a material hunt around the school with our aliens and found items which were man-made and ones which were made from natural resources .Well done primary 1 – I think we are doing a great job teaching our aliens a thing or two! See if you can show them more at home 🙂
Primary 1a have recieved some special visitors. Aliens have arrived from the planet Tuc Tuc and have asked us for some help! They have too much rubbish on their planet and so have asked us to share what we do on our planet to recycle. They would like to learn with us and find out more about our planet. They arrived in a huge block of ice and we had to work together to think about how to get them out – we tried salt, the radiator, a cosy blanket and some hot water. The hot water worked best 🙂 we must look after them and make sure they have food, water and lots of love. I’m sure primary 1 are up to the challenge!
Here is our sound for next week! Enjoy!
The Primary 1’s along with Primary 7 helpers have created a video that explains what sounds we are learning next week. We hope you enjoy learning with us!
Unfortunately, we are having trouble uploading the videos.
Coming soon……..
P1 found something special in their classroom yesterday – a strange egg! We were very excited and had lots of fantastic ideas about where the egg came from and what was inside. We thought it could be a chicken, dinosaur, panther or even a dragon. We can’t wait to find out more…
P1a have had lots of fun learning about Fairy Tales. Our favourite so far has been Jack and the Beanstalk and everyone has been very engaged with their learning. We have been creating castles and planting our own beanstalks. We also used non standard units to measure some leaves that the dragon left behind in our classroom.
We have been working very hard with learning new letters. This week we will be focusing on ‘t’ and ‘i.’ See if you can find anything at home that begins with these sounds 🙂
Finally, for number we are working on recognising, forming and ordering numbers to 10. You could practise this at home if you want to! Well done Primary 1 for all of your fantastic work and thank you so much for all of your amazing homework jotters 🙂
Primary 1 are having a fantastic week 🙂 We have been looking at the letter ‘m’ and finding things around the classroom that start with the sound. So far we have made some monsters and had fun writing the letter on our whiteboards. We particularly enjoyed watching Geraldine the Giraffe and thought she was very silly. We have a mmmmmm monster wondering around who likes to eat food that begins with ‘m.’ Max had better hide his fingers 😉 See if you can find anything at home! Well done P1a
