Inveralmond Hockey Festival

Yesterday, 6th June, the children from the P5 classes walked along to Inveralmond HS to take part in a hockey festival. There were six local schools taking part to have the chance to experience a new sport. We had a great day! The children were placed in mixed groups to make new friends and were shown how to play hockey on a full sized pitch outside on the astroturf  courts. We were exhausted by the end but we all agree that it was a super day out. The children were given leaflets to have the chance to join as an evening club during the week. Come on kids, let’s try it!

West Lothian Outdoor Rangers!!

We had a fabulous time on Thursday 31st May. In the afternoon, we walked down to Howden Park where we met two West Lothian Outdoor Rangers called Luke and Lynn. We were there for some outdoor challenges and improve our co-operation skills! We were put into 2 teams and each had their own set of activities to complete. It was quite tricky but SUCH good fun! We had to work together or the challenge simply wouldn’t work. We were walking on ski’s, lifting a ball off a pole with just ropes and replacing it onto a different pole and the hardest challenge of the lot was trying to turn over a mat while we were all still standing on it!! It was amazing and we all had great fun! Thank you to Luke and Lynn because we loved it!  Walk 1,2,3 together!

Fun Maths Today

We have been learning how to book activities online for summer holiday days out. We looked at websites for Jumpstation, Clip and Climb at Ratho Climbing Arena and Aquadash at the Commonwealth Pool in Edinburgh.

We learned how to read calendars, convert 24 hour times to 12 hour times and work out payments too. As well as that we found lots of fun activities not far from us.
