today we discussed how we keep ourselves clean and healthy. The children shared many brilliant examples such as having a bath / shower, brushing teeth etc. We then discussed and practiced good hand washing in class.
On Monday, all children in Primary 4/3 and Primary 4 were given a letter explaining their homework challenge;
‘You are being asked to complete a homework challenge! As part of our topic, Farm to Fork, you should think about your favourite food. Next, you should think about whether your food comes from a plant or animal and the journey it takes to get to our shops.
Your task is going to be to create a 3D timeline of the processes your favourite food takes to get from Farm to Fork.
For example, if you were creating the journey for bread, it would begin with wheat growing in a field, wheat being ground into flour, the flour being made into dough, the dough being made into bread and then finally the bread being sold in our shops. You have learned lots about this in class already so you can use this knowledge to help you.
You can use a variety of materials to create your timeline, such as cardboard, wood, plastic etc. Please bring these in by Wednesday 10th May and they will be proudly displayed for other classes to see! Once we have all of the 3D timelines, you will present and explain your model to the rest of your class. We are very excited to see all of your creative designs!’

Today we learned how much blood our heart pumps around our body in 1 minute. Miss Butler set us the challenge of beating our heart, first we ran about to get our heart pumping. Next she gave us a huge bowl of water, an empty bowl and a tiny cup. Like our heart does with our blood we had to move the water from one basin to another… we didn’t quite manage to beat our hearts but we had great fun (and a lot of spillages) trying!
our leadership group for the first time today. We talked about what makes up our school community and how we can broaden it into our local area. Our main goal is to build community partnerships that make our school better! 👍
P2 have been enjoying the sunshine and using the opportunity to get outside and play what’s the time mr wolf. P2 have been working really hard and can now easily read half past and o’clock. If your child has a wrist watch please encourage them to wear this to school, dojos will be given.
You’ll be delighted to know that everyone’s plates were always well and truly cleared every breakfast, lunch and dinner time! The catering staff were fantastic and we were spoiled rotten! Everything from full cooked breakfasts to pizza, baked potatoes and roast beef! Delicious!
We think Mr Graham secretly has Spider-Man senses! Well done everyone who faced their fears on the climbing and abseiling walls! Tremendous efforts from all!
Primary 2 have been loving our new human body topic! We are looking forward to more human body fun and learning next week.
