Toronto Nursery Challenges

Hello everyone,  we hope that you’re all lovely and cosy in your homes enjoying watching the snow falling down on us, or maybe you’ve been lucky enough to jump around in the soft fluffy snow making snow angels?  Whatever you’ve been choosing to do today so far we really hope that you’ve had fun!  Now, knowing you all like we do, we thought you might be looking for some more ideas by now so why not have a wee look at the grid and choose a few fun activities to do if you have time?

*Remember that tomorrow is our Big Bedtime Read launch day (hopefully) so pop your jammies on, and no doubt wellies too, grab your teddy bear and head in for a day full of fun!

See you all soon,  The Nursery Team

The school is closed  due to severe weather warnings. We will keep in touch via the blog and YAMMER today.

Here are some activities for you to do at home:

  • Didbook – add an entry to your enrichment diary. You can add a photo if you want. What about a snowy day picture !?
  • Sumdog – complete the challenge I have set the class. Who will be the winner?

GLOW: WL yourname@glow.sch.uk

  • YAMMER: check out our latest conversation on GLOW
  • SWAY: create a presentation to share with a friend in class. The topic is FANTASY HOLIDAY. Where would you go????
  • GLOW WINTER READY ACTIVITIES: SECOND LEVEL

For the four children who could NOT access GLOW in class yesterday, I have reset your passwords to 1234. Please enter this password and then change it to one of your own choice.

Enjoy working from home

Glee Club P3 – 7

Hi everyone in Glee CLub.
You can keep yourself warm today by practicing our routine. We are missing a run through today so you need to keep going over our songs and dance moves. You have all been working so hard and we need to keep this up in order to be ready for the competition next Thursday!

Here are the links to our songs:

Sumdog

Remember Sumdog! https://www.sumdog.com/
You can all have fun and challenge yourself to improve your maths, reading and writing skills using this fun site. You can play against friends from your class or from children around the world!! Can you create a Users Manual? Imagine that an Alien has arrived at Toronto PS and needs to learn how to use Sumdog. Sadly the Alien can only read – they can’t hear you!? Have a go.

P7 Snow Day Learning

Good morning primary 7!

Here are some ways that you can carry on learning at home today. Please save anything you work on and bring it in to show me.

1. Numeracy

Usually at this time we’d probably be finishing CLIC. Since we’re not, why don’t you test a family member.

  • Can they round to the nearest thousand, ten thousand or hundred thousand?
  • Can they round to 1 decimal place or 2  decimal places?
  • Can they complete a multiplication card?
  • Can you teach them the GRID method for multiplying?

2. Balanced Arguments

West Lothian Council made a tough decision in the early hours of this morning. They closed ALL the schools! What arguments would they have considered for and against doing this?

3. World Book Day

It’s World Book Day tomorrow.

  1. Dig out those book swap books and read them for one last time!
  2. Or you could read to a parent or sibling.
  3. Why don’t you use kiddle to research what a Thundersnow is?

4. Weather Watch

Will the weather forecast be accurate? Is it all cold air?

Use this form (p7 weather watch) to compare what the Met Office and BBC Weather have predicted for today. Were they accurate?

See you soon!
