P4 – Thursday Activities!

Good morning Primary 4 and Happy World Book Day!

Miss Munro’s quote of the day 🙂

I really enjoyed receiving all of your photos and videos and hope you have just as much fun in the snow today. If you are looking for more fun activities to do, see below:

  1. Let’s celebrate World Book Day by reading our favourite books. Miss Munro plans to cosy up in front of the fire with the book “Wonder”. What will you be reading? Draw a picture of your favourite character in your chosen book and explain why they are your favourite. Write a persuasive piece of writing convincing a friend to read the book – Remember to give it a star rating!
  2. Write an imaginative story about “The Beast from the East”. Catch up on the latest Newsround to find out more information about this wintery weather (http://www.bbc.co.uk/newsround/38949047) Remember to include all of the amazing work we did last term on characterisation and setting in your writing. Or you could write about everything that you have been getting up to on these wonderful wintery days. CHALLENGE: Include at least five WOW words!
  3. Practice your skills in division by sharing items out between people in your family. Gather up some pens, sweeties, or even snow balls and share them out between friends or family. What will the division calculation be? You can also access the Multiplication Mash Up to continue practicing those times tables – Practice makes Perfect! (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EgjCLhoI9Mk)
  4. Get creative and do some snowy art work – Sit by the window and draw what you can see outside, grab a piece of paper and scissors and create a snow flake or use your imagination to create your very own Winter Wonderland.
  5. Make the most of the snow and having fun outdoors. Remember to wrap up extra warm and stay safe. If you would rather stay indoors, challenge somebody at home at your favourite game or access the internet to enjoy the different interactive games that we use in class (Top Marks, Sumdog, Just Dance!)

Have a wonderful day in the snow and I cannot wait to hear even more of your stories from the last 2 days. If you have any photos you would like to share, please send them to shannon.munro@westlothian.org.uk – I look forward to seeing all of your snowy adventures.

Miss Munro 🙂
