Primary 5 – w/e 23rd November 2018

This week in Primary 5 we have looked at suspense in our story writing. We listened to spooky music and learned that short sentences can help to create suspense in our writing. We all wrote a short paragraph using this technique.

As part of our HWB this week, we explored how germs are spread. We did this using glitter – ask us about some of the facts we learned this week.

In Science, we looked at terminal velocity. Ask us what we learned!!

In grammar this week we explored adverbs and adverbial clauses. These will help to make our writing much more interesting.

In PE we have learned some new games, as well as developing our handball skills further.

In maths we’ve concluded our work on fractions and we can all now find a fraction of a number, identify equivalent fractions and put fractions in order.

We have begun to receive lots of items for our gift bags for the Day Care Centre. Many thanks if you have donated to this. The deadline for sending items into school is Friday 30th November if you would still like to donate.

Kind regards

Primary 5 and Mrs Kerr
