Singing, recording and visits- Just your average week in P6a

On Monday we had our final rugby session.  In a first we managed all 4 sessions in dry weather! A huge thank you to the coaches, Dougie, Ewan and Ellie who made sure we had fun and learned new skills.

On Tuesday Caro brought a sound engineer, Andrew, into school and we recorded our song for the museum project. We then drew designs for the CD cover and chose a winner- IP. This will feature on the cover of the finished CD. We have 1 more session with Caro next week before our performance in May. Full details about this will be sent home after the Easter break.

In Science we finished our candle holders and then peer assessed these against the design criteria.

We wrote stories about the African Savannah for the Round Table Marches Magazine competition. Mrs Newton said that they are all excellent.

Thursday was a long, exciting day. We went to visit New Lanark. We saw the Mill houses and were suprised at how little space people had to live in. We really enjoyed the Annie MacLeod ride and found the school very interesting.

Two weeks left before the Easter break and these are going to be very busy. Everyone who handed in their extended research task (thank you for the hard work) will be presenting these during the last week of term to the class. We are visiting St Michael’s Cross House for Easter crafts next Wednesday, and in the evening there is a Camp presentation for parents, starting at 5pm.  Parents nights are on Wednesday 3rd and Thursday 4th April and finally on Friday 5th April we are all going to church for our Easter Service. If you do not wish your child to attend this service please let Mrs Newton know.

Plus no homework for us until after the holidays 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂

Have a lovely weekend,  hopefully the sun will shine 🙂

P6a and Mrs Newton
