Primary 3/4 Blog Week Beginning 8.1.18

Dear All

Happy New Year with lots of cheer! Hope you had a good holiday.

This week in literacy we wrote about what we did in our holidays and what our new year’s resolutions are for 2018. We practised writing, spacing consistently. We did show and tell to hear about each other’s holidays. We listened to a poem about someone who had a sore pinkie and a rhyming story about fish. We also sang a song about someone who had lost a bouncy ball. We listened to a Hamish McHaggis book about Stirling Castle. In grammar we learned to write commas in lists and we learned to write words with the ‘ph’ sound.

In French we revised the French alphabet, the weather, greetings, how to say our name, months of the year and numbers. We learned how to say pets and animals.

In numeracy we went into groups to learn our times tables forwards, backwards and divided by. We also learned our number bonds to 15 using addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.

In health and wellbeing and learning across the curriculum we went outside to match leaves to trees. When we came back in, we matched cards of leaves to trees and put them in our jotters. We had music with Miss Bain and learned how to read music singing in low, high and medium voices. We learned a Scottish song called Katie Bairdie.

Hope you have a good weekend!
