P2 refllection

P2 Learning Reflection

In literacy we have been busy learning the ‘ea’ sound. We completed a word building and writing activity. When reading at home, see how many ‘ea’ words the children can find in their reading book! We have also been spotting nouns in stories.

In numeracy we began counting and sequencing numbers to 50 and the children are becoming more confident in using their number squares to help them. Everyone now has their Sumdog logins which are stuck inside our reading records.

In RME we have been thinking about the theme of friendship. We enjoyed reading the story of ‘Starry Eyed Stan’. We discussed the qualities of a good friend and how we can be kind to others.

In Science, we started learning about our five senses. We began by exploring our sense of sight, investigating the different parts of the eye and how our eyes work.

P2’s Week

We have been working hard this week to settle into our new routines. Everyone has a new reading book. In numeracy we have been doubling and halving numbers to 20. We got our Sumdog logins ( same as previously) which are stuck inside our reading records. There is a contest on this week for us to take part in – so have a go if you have any spare time! A few children did not have their reading records today- so will get their sumdog logins on Monday.

This week in P2…

It’s been another busy week in Primary 2! In our learning about Road Safety, we explored safe crossing places and discussed the importance of holding an adult’s hand when crossing the road. In numeracy we have been finding numbers ‘more than’ and ‘less than’ and making numbers to 20 using practical materials. We also practised handwriting some patterns and the tall letter ‘l’ and had great fun creating art magic pictures using crayon and paint. In gym, we practised aiming with a small ball at a target and played some team games. This week we also chose our representatives for the Pupil Council and we are pleased to announce that Poppy and Arya will represent Primary 2 this year. They are very excited and  looking forward to their first meeting on Tuesday!

Welcome to P2

It’s been a lovely start to the new school year and P2 have settled in very well to their new class. This week we have been establishing classroom routines and the children can now order their lunches independently! We began our Road Safety topic by discussing and drawing pictures of safe places to play. Next week we will explore safe places to cross the road and begin learning the Green Cross Code. In numeracy we revised number sequences to 20 and played some fun interactive maths games to help us work out the number before and after. We also enjoyed our welcome back assembly led by Mrs Mill where we discussed our school values.

Golden Time Disco for P2 and P3

Lots of fun was had by everyone at our recent Fun Day and we were delighted the sun shone for us.  Some children were lucky enough to win prizes in the Children’s Raffle.  In Primary 2 Joe won dress down for a day and Emma M won a disco for Golden Time.  We were able to enjoy both these prizes on Friday and joined up with Primary 3 who also won a Golden Time disco.  Here are some photos of our dancing fun.
