In Primary One this week we have been learning the sounds i and n. We have begun to build words with the sounds we have learnt so far (m, a, d, t, s, i, n), perhaps you could practise building some words at home?
In numeracy we have been learning about the numbers 8 and 9. We have been counting lots of objects around the classroom and we have been forming our numbers in the sand, showing teddy how to write them on whiteboards and making them with playdough. We have also been singing and dancing to some number songs, perhaps you’d like to have a listen at home! Here’s a few links:
In our topic work we have been developing our understanding of families and in particular, babies. We would like to give a very special welcome from all of P1 to Isla’s new sisters, Freya and Emmie. We hope to meet you very soon.
This week we also watched Jessie and Friends where we learned what to do if we are watching videos online and we see something that we don’t like and gives us a funny feeling in our tummy. We know that we must tell an adult who will help to make it go away.
Have a lovely holiday weekend and I look forward to seeing the children back in school on Wednesday.
