P2 Learning Reflection

Euan – we learned the trigraph ‘igh’ sound, high has the sound.

Poppy – I liked when we did the music with Dave. We had to dance fast and slow. He had a drum that was made from wood and goats skin.

Leighton – I enjoyed the equals greater and less than symbols. 10 is greater than 1. 10 is less than 11. 10 is equal to 10.

Savinc – I liked learning about a narrative story, written to entertain you. A narrative has a title. The orientation tells us where and who the characters are. The characters in our story were Mother duck the ten baby duckings and Father duck. Then there is a complication it’s the problem in the story. It finishes with a resolution, it tells you how the problem got fixed.

Nicholas – we learned split digraph ‘i-e’, make and cake have the sound.

Leo – I enjoyed going to assembly we were learning about flu germs. You cover your mouth when you sneeze or cough, then you have to wash your hands.

Lois – we learned the ‘i-e’ , ‘igh’  sound and we another one the ‘y’  sound in fly.

James – I liked learning about the germs in assembly. You cover your mouth when you cough so you don’t pass germs.

Austin – we were doing the ‘ igh’ sound, high has that sound. Smile has the split digraph i-e.

Emma – I liked it when Dave sang for us to stand up. He went La, la la la la la la la la  his voice got higher. His voice got lower when he wanted us to sit down.

Sushanth – I liked number talks. We looked at patterns in 10 frames.

Coben – I enjoyed assembly, the people living in the dark cold place. They have no energy and no wifi. They need stuff to stay alive. We are going to help them.

Roshan – We will put stuff in a shoe box, things like toys and hats and gloves.

Isaac – I enjoyed doing number talks. We were counting ten frames. I solved one, I used a near double 4 and 3.

Subhan – We need to wash our hands before we eat and cover our mouths before we cough, so we don’t spread flu.

Kaelan – I liked the assembly it was about flu. It spreads germs because they are so small they can easily spread. You stop them by washing your hands.

Rory – I enjoyed PE we were doing team games, I like playing the games you have to work with your team.

Here’s a few links:

In our topic work we have been developing our understanding of families and in particular, babies.  We would like to give a very special welcome from all of P1 to Isla’s new sisters, Freya and Emmie.  We hope to meet you very soon.

This week we also watched Jessie and Friends where we learned what to do if we are watching videos online and we see something that we don’t like and gives us a funny feeling in our tummy.  We know that we must tell an adult who will help to make it go away.
