Good morning everybody and welcome to a new week and a new month! I am in school again so please be patient when waiting for a response. I hope you all had a lovely weekend! Here is our plan for the day: Daily Plan – Mon 1st March 2021
I have put another 1 or 2 new books in your Reading Group Booklists: https://online.raintree.co.uk/login/index.html. Some books are longer so will take the groups longer to read, some groups don’t have a new book as their text was longer.
There will be a live check in around 9:30 with me on Teams.
Numeracy
L/I To multiply numbers.
S/C
T – I can multiply numbers by 2 and 10
S&C- I can multiply numbers by 3 and 4
Task: This week we are continuing our topic of multiplication. In Class Materials- Mrs Hillan in the files section you will find your Multiplication activities. There are 2 activities for each group. Please put your completed sheets or the sums on paper into your folder in the files section once you have finished.
Below is your Reading task to do after watching the next video of me reading the next chapter of Mr Stink. The video is in the Class Materials- Mrs Hillan folder, but here is the youtube link also in case you have problems accessing it: https://youtu.be/Z4KquT3i_FY
Task:
L/I To make a prediction
S/C I can use my knowledge of what I have heard to predict what will happen next in our class novel.
Task: Predict what will happen next in our story based on the last chapter – write about your prediction firstly and then show this in a detailed drawing. You can use the Predictor sheet in ‘Class Materials – Mrs Hillan’ folder or just draw and write about it on a piece of paper/jotter. Remember to make this detailed and connected to the part we have just read. Once you have completed this, please put it into your folder in the Files Section.
Your second task, which may carry on into the afternoon is to create a Wanted Poster for a book character of your choice. They can be from any story. This is because this week we will celebrate World Book Day on Thursday. You will be asked to include some information on the character to make them easier to find. There is a sheet in our folder you can use or just do it on a piece of paper, then add it to your folder.
We will catch up at 12:15 to see how we are all getting on.
Good afternoon everyone, hope you all enjoyed your lunch! I will post this afternoon’s activities below – Spelling, Wellbeing task and you could also read a story to someone at home for World Book Day.
I will check in with you all around 2:15 and have a live meet up at 2:45 for another fun Quiz!
Spelling
Your new spelling words for the week are in the ‘Class Materials – Mrs Hillan’ folder – remember to look at your group’s words! Once you have looked over your words and practised these using ‘Look, Cover, Write, Check’, write out your words in interesting sentences – try to make these as interesting as you can! There is a sheet you can record on in ‘Class Materials – Mrs Hillan’ folder or you can record on paper/jotter. Remember to put in your folder afterwards.
There will hopefully be more activities to be added.
Read a story
Read a story of your choice to someone at home, maybe you could ask them some questions afterwards to see how well they have listened! Make sure you know the answers to the questions yourself first.
2:45 – QUIZ – LIVE
Thank you for your hard work today, I’ll look forward to seeing you all tomorrow!
Follow the link to listen to the author Michael Rosen who writes fabulous poetry (you may need to highlight the link , right click then go to the Scottish Book Trust).
The aim of Free Writing Friday is to encourage creative writing for enjoyment. You can write and draw whatever you like. Teachers are allowed to read the stories, but not mark them! Free writing is purely about putting pen to paper and being creative. Maybe you’ll have been inspired by Michael Rosen and feel like writing a poem – enjoy!
Hello everyone, Mrs Lockhart here again. Hope you are all well.
