Overview Thursday 18.2.21

Hello everyone, Mrs Lockhart here again. Hope you are all well.

Today you can find your work for Mrs Dobbie in her folder in class materials. Mrs Dobbie is working in school today so might not be able to have a check in. Keep an eye on the Teams chat to find out.

I will meet with you in a check in at 11.00 and again after lunch at 1.30 for a live catch up (no dictation this week). All your work for the day from me is in the Class Materials folder dated Thursday 18.2.21. We are covering RME /French with Mrs Dobbie, maths digital time, a reading task from a non – fiction book and a poem for enjoyment.

Don’t forget it is good to have regular brain breaks and to get some fresh air.

I have written down times to try and help with organisation but feel free to move things around or do them later if that’s easier.

BREAK 10.30 – 10.45

11.20 Maths Task – Time

There is a lot of work today on digital times. It is a self- correcting activity. Please do the task first before you look at the answers and correct any errors. Remember we learn from our mistakes.

So complete the worksheets

Play the Reveal the Picture powerpoint in the files too.

Also watch this How long is a Quarter of an Hour? video

https://www.bbc.co.uk/teach/class-clips-video/maths-ks1-ks2-how-long-is-quarter-of-an-hour/zhgnvk7

Cut out the following shapes a square, a circle and a rectangle. Then fold once (in half) and then once again to make a quarter. Colour the quarter. Can you see the why it’s called quarter past and quarter to in time work?

Remember to continue playing the time game to demonstrate your knowledge. You can make it trickier by changing the instructions.
