Lunch Ordering Reminders Via iPay

Dear parent/ carer,
I just wanted to make contact, with a reminder as to how you use iPay to order your child’s lunch.
All Primary 1-7 families should pre-order their child’s lunch, on a daily or weekly basis. The only exceptions to this, are those children who have just enrolled and don’t have their log in yet, or those families who don’t have access to the internet.
The options on iPay are:
  • School dinners (these are free for all children in Primary 1-5, and those children who have specifically applied for free school meal entitlement:
    – 2 hot meal choices
    – 2 sandwich choices
    – special diet – those children who have an intolerance/ allergy. The school should already be made aware of these children and a special diet set up.
  • Packed lunch – when your child brings a lunch from home
  • Eating at home – if your child is going home for lunch/ including a Friday
  • Absence – Your child is off school that day
Families who want their child to have a sandwich packed lunch from the school kitchen on a Friday, should order this by 9:30am on a Thursday. This allows the kitchen to ensure they have enough ingredients to make the larger sandwich lunch order on a Friday. They will no longer be able to order this option in clan on a Friday morning.
The benefits of using iPay for us as a school are:
  • It doesn’t impact on your child’s learning time in the morning.
  • Less admin time for teaching champs, and more teaching time in the morning.
  • If children are late for school or at an appointment, their lunches are still ordered on time.
  • Better communication between home, to the office, to the kitchen.
  • More reliable numbers for lunches, ensuring that each child gets what they want they want for their lunch
Any family having issues with accessing iPay should phone the office or book a slot to pop in, so the office champs can set you up.
Our hope is, that will be able to organise lunches by everyone pre ordering and no one having to order in clan in the morning (apart from the children who have started Calderwood on that day).
Kind regards,

Miss Burton

Bramble Clan Connects: 02.12.22

On Friday 2nd December, Bramble Clan presented their own connects all about ‘The Bramble Brain Lab.’ The pupils created a fantastic performance sharing their knowledge of the different parts of the brain, what our brain helps our bodies do and how our brain can grow so we can learn new things. Bramble presented an incredible performance that took into account costumes, acting and music! Well done Bramble Clan!

Bluebell Clan Connects- 09.12.22

On Friday 9th December, Bluebell presented their own clan connects all about the narrative writing they had been learning about in their clan. Bluebell acted out the story of Cinderella and then shared how they took the plot of this story to recreate their own versions. The pupils shared the different writing techniques they had learned so they could create their own books. We were so impressed by their fantastic acting, singing and understanding of stories. The pupils finished their connects with an amazing song that inspired the audience that life really is your own story. Well done Bluebell Clan!

Calderwood Commitments (Actions):

  • P1 Nativity tickets donations open on iPay
  • Milk for term 3 is currently open on iPay to order, until 20th December.
  • A gentle reminder that all children should have outdoor footwear left in school so they can play on the grass/ outdoors in all weathers. We also recommend that children bring a change of socks and bottoms to keep in school in case they get wet playing outdoors. Please let us know id you need any support with this.
  • We continue to request that all families order their lunch on iPay, prior to the start of the school day. Children in the morning take part in a range of Stag Start activities to help them settle into the school day, stopping to ask them to order their lunch interrupts their learning time.
  • In this calendar you will find a list of all events until the end of term please ensure you read so you and your child can be prepared: Christmas Countdown Calendar
