Good morning and welcome to a new week of learning grid activities and daily challenges. We hope that you enjoy today’s one.
Can you design and make an obstacle course in the house or in the garden?
Time yourself or ask an adult to time you completing it. How long does it take you?
Have fun!

Comments Off on Daily Message and Challenge for our P1-3 Pupils 😎
Good morning from all of the teachers and staff who work with P1-3! We hope that you got out and enjoyed some of that sunshine yesterday.
Today’s challenge is from the Woodland Trust. Have some fun with it. If you don’t have birdseed here is a link that could give you some good alternatives from what you may have around the house.
Ok, so here’s the challenge. Don’t forget to take a photo and print it, if you can, to put into your home learning jotter. You could draw it as well, of course. Equally, an adult could share it by way of an instant private message to the school on Twitter, if they would like!
Make a loo roll bird feeder
This is messy fun kids will love to get stuck into. And it will help them learn about the birds in your neighbourhood.
You can make this simple feeder with items you probably already have at home:
Smother a cardboard tube in peanut butter (no added salt and sugar versions are suitable for birds).
Roll it in bird seed and thread some string through the hole.
Tie it up in your garden where birds will feel safe eating.
How many garden birds will you spot? Take a look at our blog to help you and your children identify them. https://www.woodlandtrust.org.uk/blog/2019/03/10-garden-birds/
If you do not have the ingredients or have an allergy, here is another activity that will get you outside and creative.
Make natural art
Art and crafts will be a popular way to keep kids busy. To mix things up, put the pencils and crayons to one side and look for natural art materials instead. Collect fallen leaves, petals and sticks and use them to make a picture or sculpture. You could even use the objects as ‘stampers’ or paintbrushes – dipping them in paint and rolling, brushing or stamping them on paper to create interesting patterns..
