Bellsquarry Primary School

What a busy week in P2

This week we have been doing lots of fantastic learning in Primary 2.

On Monday we learned all about short vowel sounds.  We practiced listening out for a, e, i, o & u (Lee) in words like ‘cat’ and ‘bus’.  We also practiced jumping in PE, and learned that we should try to land with our knees bent (Maisy).

On Tuesday we learned all about patterns in maths (Amelia).  We looked at patterns to work out what comes next and even made up some of our own!  In Art we painted autumn trees, and learned all about the different colours of autumn (Haaris).

On Wednesday and Thursday we did lots of thinking about safe and unsafe places to play (Aaron).  We also did some great reading comprehension, reading a poem all about a boy with smelly feet!

On Friday our assembly was all about Remembrance Day and we learned that we wear poppies (Lee) to remember people who died in wars (Jack R.)

All week we’ve been doing lots of work about Christmas.  We watched a Christmas video and made a list of all the things that reminded us of Christmas (Amelia).  This is so we can start planning what we will make for the Christmas fayre!  Every day we’ve been doing Nativity practice with P1, P3/2 and P3.  We’ve been learning the song words and practicing our best singing (Maha).

Have a lovely weekend!
