“Thumbs on Tums”

In PE we have been learning about fitness and doing circuits in the gym hall. We’ve learned how to take our pulse and why it increases when we exercise.

Our maths groups have been practising take away sums using the “chimney” layout, some of us with some really big numbers and learning how to do exchanging! We’ve also learned about 3D shapes and some of their properties. Another exciting thing we’ve been doing is Number Talks where we use different strategies to solve problems – we don’t put our hands up when we’ve got an answer, but we do put our “Thumbs on tums” when we’ve got a strategy to try and find the answer.

Technology has been a lot of fun this week – some of us worked on our PowerPoint presentations and some of us made pop-up 3D scenes about the Vikings. Next week we will swap over.
