Bellsquarry Primary School

Primary 2

It has been a busy couple of weeks in Primary 2. In our language work we have been learning that an adjective is a describing word. We thought of lots of words to describe different nouns. Next week we are going to create our own giant class adjective snake and display it along with our verb bees. Our topic this term is Minibeasts and we have been thinking about what we already know and what we would like to find out. Using the internet and reference books we have already discovered that insects have their skeletons on the outside of their bodies and that a cockroach can live for several weeks without its head!
In science we learned that our sense of smell can help us feel hungry, taste food better and help keep us safe. We conducted an experiment using our sense of smell. Some of us were blindfolded and different objects were held under our noses and we had to try and guess what the smell was! Most of us guessed chocolate, onion, lemon, coffee and apple correctly.
