Primary 3 went for a walk along to Dedridge Pond on Friday morning to see the swans that are currently nesting on the small island. The female swan (pen) had built her nest in the centre and the male swan (cob) was protecting them. He was very good at protecting the nest as he was very busy chasing the ducks away! The female swan was sleeping when we arrived but woke to say hello just before we left. We also spotted lots of birds nests during our walk. We are planning to go back to visit again once the baby swans (cygnets) are born.
