Bellsquarry Primary School

Primary One Reflections

This week, we decided that we would share some of our learning from a number of curricular areas.  We hope you enjoy it!

Science:  We have been investigating the forces of push and pull.  We understand that force makes things move but can also make things stop.  We can even explain that gravity keeps us on the ground!

Topic/IDL:  We further developed our mapping skills by linking toys to their country of origin using a key.

Literacy:  We made a human sentence!  We found it very tricky and we will try it again next week.  Almost all pupils recited a poem to the class and did it very well indeed.

Maths:  We have been doing a lot of mental maths involving numbers before, after and in between.  We have also been continuing number patterns.

Health:  We had a really great discussion about teeth!

RME:  Darren came to assembly and told us a super story about sharing.  The nursery came to assembly as well to wish us all a ‘Happy New Year’ in Chinese.

It has been a busy but very good week in P1!  Have a lovely long weekend.
